Kite
A private web browser for iPhone.
In private beta
A small group of testers is trying Kite through Apple’s TestFlight. It isn’t available to download yet.
What Kite does today
-
Shields
Blocks ads, trackers and dangerous sites
Kite blocks ads, trackers and popups, and stops sites known for malware, phishing or scams, with a page that tells you why. Its filter lists update every few days, and if a site breaks, you can turn Shields off for that one site from the page menu.
-
Cookie banners
Turns down cookie banners
Kite is built to say no for you: it picks “Reject all” or “Only necessary” when a cookie banner offers it. A banner that asks you to pay or accept stays up so you can choose.
-
Gestures
Swipe to get around
Swipe anywhere on a page to go back or forward, and swipe the toolbar to flip between your recent tabs.
-
Tabs
Tabs that tidy themselves
Tabs you haven’t used in a day move to the archive, where you can restore them. You can make that 12 hours, 3 days, a week or 30 days instead.
-
Private tabs
Kite never saves them
Private tabs stay out of your history and the archive, and their cookies and site data are kept only in memory.
-
Voice
Search by voice, on your iPhone
Hold the Search button (+) and say what you’re looking for. Kite turns your speech into text on your iPhone, so voice search never sends your voice anywhere.
-
Your data
No account, no ads, no analytics
There’s nothing to sign up for and nothing to sync: your tabs, history and settings live on your iPhone. Search with Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Kagi or your own engine.
